Roof area drives everything
A large-format warehouse roof concentrates enormous flow into a small number of downpipes. Siphonic or charged systems can reduce pipework, but they demand precise construction and clear maintenance responsibility.
Keep the dock dry
Grade the dock apron away from the building and never route surface flow across a loading area. Trench drains at dock level must be rated for the actual vehicle loading, not a nominal pedestrian rating.
