The challenge
Heavy articulated vehicle loading across the hardstand combined with reactive subgrade conditions and a tight construction program for an operational tenant.

Our solution
A rationalised portal frame with repeated connection details reduced fabrication time, while pavement design was tuned to the actual vehicle fleet. Drainage was routed to keep the dock apron free of surface water.

The outcome
The facility was documented and certified within program, with a repeated structural detail set that reduced steel fabrication cost.
